Part II – The Moment the Room Changes
(Third Person POV)
The Anticipation Thickens
By the time the last of the chatter swelled through the grand hall, an unmistakable shift rippled through the crowd.
A cluster of senior businessmen subtly angled themselves closer to the entrance.
Matrons adjusted their jewelry.
Daughters straightened their posture.
Because…
The Sy family had arrived.
Or rather—
They were about to.
And everyone could feel it the way one senses thunder before it cracks the sky.
The Yu household staff quietly moved into formation near the doors. A ripple of motion spread from servant to socialite to aristocrat like a silent alarm.
Someone murmured, barely audible:
"The Sy heir… with his new girlfriend…"
"A shame for the Chua girl. Such a long history—"
"But look at the Lui girl tonight. Anyone would understand—"
"I wonder if they coordinated on purpose."
And—
"…does Mrs. Sy know?"
A collective shiver of excitement.
