Like Rana, Ringwald refused to take on a more important role in the management of Niflheim but not because he didn't want to but rather because of his position as a branch guild master.
It was frowned upon for guild masters to be deeply involved in the management of the territory they inhabit beyond his current role, doing so may in fact result in having to abandon his position in the guild, something he had no desire to do even if it meant a promotion in Niflheim.
