A new day had arrived.
Since there was leftover bear broth, Cid and Yoriichi had breakfast without worrying about what they would eat in the afternoon.
Cid didn't like the bear, nor the turtle, but he couldn't be picky in this place.
After cleaning the cave and leaving no evidence that anyone had been there, they said goodbye to their improvised home and headed into the mountains.
To make the long walk more bearable, they began to talk. In the middle of their conversation, Cid stopped because of what he heard.
"Huh? You're a yokai and not a human?"
Cid was astonished and couldn't believe it.
That something other than a human or a demi-human existed was, to him, out of this world.
(I always thought Desmond was a demi-human with bull features; they existed, but went extinct.)
(I never thought there would be a new species in this world.)
Yoriichi turned and said those same words to him.
