When Dread Duchess mentioned Nomad out of nowhere, everyone seemed to finally remember the disciple of the Moonless Wandering King.
Moreover, Nomad was the actual reason behind the opening of the Evernight Sanctuary before time and the changes in the Evernight Trial. Yet not only did he fail, but he also seemed to have vanished in the Undead Cradle.
Although the Evernight Dukes were interested in Nomad because of his connection with the Moonless Wandering King, and even Evernight Kings were paying attention to him, whether he was alive or dead had nothing to do with them.
But the Dread Duchess was different because Nomad had been 'sent' to her instead of other Evernight Dukes, which means it was probably because of the Moonless Wandering King's intention.
That's why the Dread Duchess thought it was her duty to protect him and make sure that he was alive, or the Moonless Wandering King might hold a grudge against her if anything happened to him.
