In Ren's mind, appeared flashbacks of the battle that had just occurred recently. Scenes showing their struggle against the Death Reaper started flashing inside him. Each hero that was among them during the fight were showcased one by one in Ren's mind with different expressions while fighting. Drey was also shown in one of the scenes as well as a few knights. Until the scene eventually arrived at Takeshi.
At first, Takeshi's expression was that when Ren saved him. Then the scene changed as Takeshi stabbed Ren, followed by Takeshi's words.
"You can die there for all I care."
These words echoed in Ren's mind as Takeshi drops the sword he used to stab Ren and immediately ran towards the entance.
Then that particular scene repeated in Ren's mind. The scene was like a slideshow meant to anger someone, focusing their hatred towards the person shown. It repeated for several times that Ren's anger built up leading him to say out loud inside his mind.
"Takeshi! You bastard! I'll fucking kill you! Remember that!"
Just as Ren yelled his anger towards Takeshi, he's mind went completely black. And from that blackness formed a figure that was massive and carried a giant scythe. It was the Death Reaper. Ren wasn't completely sure about what he saw until the blackness transformed into the room where he last fought the monster.
"Y...You again..."
Ren was shocked that the Death Reaper he already killed was standing in front of him. It was only in his mind though, but Ren didn't know that.
"When are you going to stop? Just give up already.", Ren said with fear.
The Death Reaper lifted up it's scythe, then monsters appeared that surrounded Ren. What appeared where Skeleton Warriors and Devil Hounds, the same as the Summons that appeared during the last battle. They weren't that many in number compared to the last. Five Skeleton Warriors were standing behind him. Three Devil Hounds to his left, three Skeleton Warriors to his right, and six Skeleton Warriors with a combination of four Devil Hounds to his front. Making a total of 21 Summons.
I said that they weren't that many compared to the last but 21, not including the big one is too much for one person. Seing this, Ren's expression darkened. His eyes filled with anger and his teeth grinned would make someone back off. Ren didn't waste time as he draw his sword.
He positioned it in front of him. Then he slowly tilted his sword diagonally as he placed his left foot behind him, overlapping the current position of his right leg. And with a shift of his whole body, he was facing the left side with his sword in the same direction. Ren was holding his sword parallel to both his shoulders where the sharp edge was facing upward. Then he lowered his body as if he was preparing to charge at someone, which he did after a few seconds.
While retaining his position, he focused his strength at both his legs. Then Ren dashed towards the Skeleton Warrior in front of him like he jumped but instead of upward, he jumped forward. With the same foot he used to dash, he stepped with it while striking the Skeleton Warrior. The sword that came from upwards passed through the Summon as if it was butter. Then Ren turned to his right, beheading a Skeleton Warrior.
Two Summons went down instantly. The others growled at Ren as they ran towards him. With swords aiming for him and sharp teeth that wanted to pierce his flesh, Ren remained unfazed. To his right was a Devil Hound that was close to biting his leg. Ren took a step back as he retracted his sword then slashing the Summon with an attack that came from his lower left, cutting it diagonally.
As the other Summons were approaching him, he sheathed his sword then taking a stance showing that he was going to unleash a move. He then gripped the hilt of his sword.
"Sword Drawing: Turn of Fate!"
Ren quickly draw his sword. He rotated as his sword fully took a 360 degree turn around him while he returned to his original stance before rotating. That single spin of his sword and body hacked at five Summons, instantly defeating them. This leaves 13 Summons to go.
Ren took another stance as he aimed for the remaining Devil Hounds that came from the left.
"Third Sword: Three-Fold Strike!"
Three simultaneous slashes brought down the approaching Devil Hounds. Ren faced the remaining Summons and yelled at them angrily.
"Come on and have a piece of me!"
As a Skeleton Warrior drew near, Ren attacked it, defeating it in one strike. Then he moved on to another and attacked it. It didn't take Ren a minute to defeat all 10 remaining Summons. All that's left was the Death Reaper. Ren aimed his sword towards the monster and said...
"That just leaves you skull face...This time, I'll finish you completely that you won't appear before me again!"
Ren charged at the Death Reaper. However, the monster was just staring at Ren, as if it didn't mind him and was waiting for something. Ren just continued and jumped towards the Death Reaper, slashing it's chest. Ren expected that the sword would slice through the Death Reaper's coat and hit it's body but instead, Ren was the one who passed through the Death Reaper, landing behind it.
The Death Reaper that he attacked was just like the smoke that appeared before. Ren immediately looked back but saw nothing. Just when he was looking around hoping to find the Death Reaper, a metallic rod pierced through him. The rod pierced the part where the hole in Ren's body was, creating a new hole. But that hole didn't enlarge the damage Ren received earlier, it just pierced through him. That's because the hole that the Death Reaper dealt to Ren earlier was not there. So the current hole made by the rod was a new one.
Ren looked behind him again only to find the Death Reaper piercing through him with it's scythe. He glared at the monster and was about to shout at it when another metal rod pierced through him. This time on the other side of Ren's body. He looked back again and saw another Death Reaper pierce through him with it's scythe. Ren was shocked that there were two Death Reapers.
'Why are there two Death Reapers?'
As Ren was thinking to himself, another rod pierced through him. It was followed by another. Then another. And another. Countless rods pierced through him like he was being ganged up by a group of spearmen.
Feeling the intense pain, Ren yelled loudly...Waking him from his sleep.
