Chapter 4 - The last magicians.

Kei stood in front of the desk drawer while Shima looked at him strangely.

Ever since earlier, she had been trying to figure out who Kei had been talking to.

Kei took a deep breath.

He needed to calm down.

Is what I heard true?

Am I a magician?

The last one?

"What do you mean I'm the last magician? And I've never heard of Golden Magic."

Kei spoke again after a moment of silence.

(Golden Magic belongs only to the Last Magician. There can only be one Last Magician who possesses every magical power. That is why it is called Golden Magic.)

"Why haven't I ever felt like a magician? How can you say I'm the Last Magician?"

Kei still couldn't understand the mysterious man.

(I don't know... But I do know that you are the Last Magician.)

"If that's true... then how do I use my power?"

Kei asked curiously.

(Call the name of the djinn within you... But once you do, you will no longer be able to hide from the creature known as the Wolf of Death.)

"What do you mean?"

Kei frowned after hearing the creature's name.

"Hey, Kei! Who are you talking to? What do you mean by 'the Last Magician'? I don't understand. You've been talking to yourself this whole time."

Shima shook Kei's arm impatiently.

She felt as though she didn't exist.

They were already in danger, yet Kei kept talking to someone she couldn't hear.

"It's hard for me to explain."

Kei let out a quiet sigh.

(If you want to know more about the history of the magicians, I can tell you.)

Kei thought for a moment.

He had never heard this man's voice before, and he was certain they had never met.

A minute later, he finally made up his mind.

"Okay. I'll meet you... but first, you have to save us."

(If that's your request, then you have only six minutes to leave this building. If you fail... I won't be able to help you anymore because my power is limited.)

"Okay... Start now."

Whether he believed the mysterious voice or not didn't matter anymore.

The only thing that mattered was getting Shima out of the building safely.

Kei tightly grabbed Shima's hand.

He refused to let her get left behind.

"Shima, we only have six minutes to get out of here. I don't want to lose you, so don't fall behind."

Shima smiled and nodded.

Although she had no idea what Kei was planning, she knew this wasn't the right time to ask questions.

The wardrobe...

Kei and Shima pushed it aside.

Kei then gripped the doorknob tightly.

The loud roars outside frightened Shima.

However, when she saw the determined look on Kei's face, she believed he could save both of them.

(Three... Two... One... Parou (Stop). Go now, Keishii!)

Kei who heard.

Kei immediately turned the doorknob.

To his surprise, several tiger-like creatures were standing right in front of them.

Without wasting any time, Kei grabbed Shima's hand and ran out of the room.

They rushed down the stairs.

Another tiger-like creature appeared in front of them.

Startled, Kei and Shima kept running without stopping.

As they reached the fourth floor, Shima noticed that the tiger's eyes were following them.

She was surprised to see its green eyes slowly turn red.

As soon as they reached the ground floor, Kei and Shima ran toward Kei's car, which was parked not far from the building.

Shima looked at her watch.

Five minutes had already passed.

Only one minute remained.

They quickly got into the car, and Kei immediately drove away from the bird park.

Shima kept her eyes on her watch as she counted down.

"Ten... Nine... Eight... Seven... Six... Five... Four... Three... Two... One..."

Shima looked through the rear window while Kei kept his eyes on the road ahead.

The creatures that had been frozen began to move again.

All of them turned their eyes toward Kei's car as it disappeared into the distance.

The tiger-like creatures and the wolves let out furious roars.

"It looks like... they're angry, Kei."

Shima said as Kei continued driving away from the area.

Tsk... Do I really need to feel sorry for them? They're evil creatures!

The mysterious voice had disappeared.

Kei had no idea who had helped them.

But that person knew his name.

I hope... I'll hear that voice again.

"Well? Did they make it out?"

Someone asked.

"They managed to escape."

The other replied.

"Fullus... Are you sure he's the Last Magician?"

He asked as he looked at the man beside him.

"I know because of my power, Plifer. I clearly sensed a golden light inside the building. He is the Last Magician."

Fullus replied seriously.

"In that case... I wasn't wrong earlier. While we were inside the building, I did sense the aura of a magician. At first, I thought it was just my imagination."

Plifer looked down at the Death Wolves and the Half-Cat Tigers below.

"He was in the same room as us, Plifer. That's why I told us to leave. His aura attracted the Half-Cat Tigers."

Fullus explained honestly.

Plifer neither nodded nor looked surprised.

"We can't let him die, Plifer. That's why I asked you to help him. Besides... don't you realize why you were able to communicate with him?"

Fullus asked.

"I didn't think anything was strange. I just didn't expect him to hear my voice. Even half-magicians can't hear me, although I can communicate with them."

Plifer replied thoughtfully.

"That's because he isn't a half-magician."

"He's the true Last Magician."

Fullus said, trying to convince him.

"Alright. If that's what you want, I'll help him, Fullus."

"But I still can't trust him completely."

Plifer answered after a few seconds of silence.

"He can save our world, Plifer."

"He's our only hope."

Fullus placed a hand on Plifer's shoulder and gently patted it twice.

Keishii...

You will save my world...

And yours as well.

I'll do everything I can to help you.

Fullus whispered.

Fullus asked Plifer to leave.

Plifer closed his eyes for a moment.

When he opened them again, they had turned red.

Dark clouds slowly covered the moon.

As the moon disappeared behind the clouds, both of them vanished into the darkness.

Inside the same building they had just left, the silhouettes of a boy and a girl stood on the balcony outside one of the rooms.

The girl struggled to hold back her anger.

Meanwhile, the boy silently stared ahead...

A crimson light glowed in his left eye.
