Clans in Sunagakure (Non-Exhaustive List)

The Higashi Clan – This is one of the five noble families in Sunagakure, sometimes nicknamed the Kazekage clan or the Royal Clan, for having produced two out of the three Kazekage who ruled the hidden village. Strong and wise, the family possess the kekkei Gekkai 'Magnet Release', allowing them manipulation of sand and iron.

The Chikamatsu clan – This clan is one of the three noble families in Sunagakure, and perhaps the only one that is not bound by blood, but rather by bonds. They work in tandem and share their findings to promote and innovate puppet arts. Being the creator of the technique, Chikamatsu Hawn was the very first shinobi puppeteer, and as such he created the White Secret Technique: The Chikamatsu Collection of Ten Puppets.

Shikabane Clan – This clan is one of the three noble families in Sunagakure, their members famous for the Kekkei Gekkai they possess: the ability to control blood and unleash terrifying water type jutsu using their own blood and the blood of the fallen as their fuel

The Nokoma Clan – This clan has been producing the strongest ninjutsu specialists in Sunagakure. Known for its arts of Wind jutsu (futon) and fan arts, they are also very strong in politics and have always aimed to extend the three noble families to five, including them as part of the Sunagakure powerhouses.

The Hoki Clan – A mysterious clan working on archives, history and information gathering. All of its members, be it babies or old men, are forbidden from revealing their true identity to anyone, always wearing recognizable black crow masks, and sand-coloured uniforms. They are loyal and obey the orders of the Sunagakure council, their existence being unique and mysterious, though their contributions and loyalty to the village are second to none. Their ability to blend into the sand is especially famous.

The Furuse Clan – A small clan consisting of only a dozen family branches. They are especially bloodthirsty and famous for their cruelty on the battlefield. Members of this family are able to wield poison jutsu and their skin are as rough as scorpion carapace. However, this is not the product of bloodline release, but from conditioning from the youngest age. Weak heirs die very early on.

The Aki Clan – Though not a noble family, the Aki Clan has proved its strength and loyalty over countless years, with their famous Kekkei Gekkai being the 'Scorch Release'.

The Date Clan - A clan of kenjutsu specialists using the Kenjutsu Wind Style. Although they are a clan, any practitioner of the Sunagakure clan can become a member through political marriage. They value strength above everything else.
