This liquor, as Bai Zhi said, really has a high alcohol content.
Duan Xingzhi rarely drinks white liquor, and suddenly drinking such strong liquor made him feel a bit unaccustomed; just one glass and he was somewhat tipsy.
However, fortunately, he didn't gulp down that glass all at once. He also ate a lot of the dishes Bai Zhi brought over in between, so his stomach wasn't empty and didn't feel uncomfortable; it was just that his head was a bit dizzy.
He really couldn't drink any more, or he'd embarrass himself.
He could embarrass himself anywhere, but he couldn't afford to do so at his father-in-law's house.
Bai Zhi noticed his face turning pale and him occasionally pressing his temples, so she quickly put down her chopsticks, "What's wrong? Did you drink too much?"
Duan Xingzhi squinted his eyes slightly, as if smiling, "I'm okay, just a bit light-headed."
Bai Zhi heard that and thought, well, isn't that being drunk.
