Tessa Caldwell finished washing her hands, turned to the side to pull some paper towels, and suddenly felt a sharp sting at the back of her neck, like a needle prick.
As if someone was jabbing something into her.
Tessa's eyes flew wide in shock. She instinctively twisted her head toward the blonde woman; the blonde was still smiling, but now there was a bloodthirsty chill lurking in that smile.
Tessa opened her mouth wide, wanting to shout for the bodyguards outside.
But her vision went black, her mouth snapped shut, and she lost consciousness.
When she regained a little awareness, she felt that she must be in some dark, sealed space. Her head was heavy, everything before her eyes was hazy, and a chill crept over her entire body.
Yet it was clearly summer.
Why was she cold?
Where on earth was she?
