Eleanor Whittaker was on the verge of losing her mind with anxiety, yet she had no way out.
The only thing she could do was to compromise, or stall for time, "Can you give me some time to think about it?"
"Of course," Faye agreed and instructed Nolan Ford outside, "Nolan, get someone to take Miss Momsen home."
Faye was unexpectedly agreeable, and Eleanor Whittaker found it hard to believe. She widened her eyes at him, feeling something was amiss, but didn't dare to ask more.
She was afraid that if she asked further, Faye might angrily refuse to let her go.
No matter what his conspiracy was, as long as she could leave, she should leave quickly. Once gone, she could find ways to deal with whatever came next.
