__________
He wasn't actually lying to Tayuya either. Sure, he had a bunch of clones that could run around and do a lot of jobs for him. But for some, a personal touch was needed.
Which was why he found himself arriving at one of the top class hotels of the leave village, and knocking on the room door of a very specific set of guests.
The door opened a moment later, to reveal a tall, tan man with a white turban, "…You…!" Baki stiffened.
"Hi there," Daiki grinned at him, "Can Gaara come out to play?"
Baki swallowed heavily, "…May I ask why you wish to speak to Gaara…Hokage-dono?"
"Above your pay grade," Daiki happily informed him, "But, it's just a friendly visit. After all, he is one of my brethren, isn't he?" he mused, pulling on Isobu's chakra and watching as Baki stepped back in fear as the whites of his eyes rippled into purple.
"Ah…yes, that is right," Baki clasped his hands together behind his back, "Just a moment then Hokage-dono, I will get him for for you-"
"There is no need, I'm already here." the gravelly voice of Gaara spoke up behind him, and Baki's shoulders slumped in defeat as the redhead walked passed him.
Surprisingly flanked by Temari.
"No Kankuro?" Daiki raised a brow.
"No." Temari was the one to reply, giving him a serious look, "What do you want with Gaara?"
"Well, that was going to be a private discussion, but I suppose you'd find out anyway," Daiki shrugged, "Let's go to the roof." he said, cutting off the flow of Isobu's chakra.
Baki actually slumped in relief.
Daiki resisted the urge to laugh.
He led them up to the roof, brushing his hand over the doorway as he stepped out, a seal flaring into existence briefly around them.
Sealing the sound coming from the rooftop itself, making sure they couldn't be overheard.
"…Did…did you just apply a seal by casually touching the wall?" Temari outright gaped at him, while one Gaara's non-existent eyebrow rose when he turned to face them.
"Yeah, I'm pretty good with them," Daiki boasted as he walked over to a bench atop the roof, giving a great view of the Hokage monument and the village as a whole. There was a lovely garden terrace atop the roof, with a small pond and everything.
A great place to chill and relax. The kind of place that people would love to have their breakfast at in the morning, and be provided a glorious view of the splendour of the Leaf Village.
He slouched onto the bench, both arms going over the back of it, and brought his left foot up over his right knee as he gave them a lazy half lidded gaze, "Not that I need to remind you of that," he said, "You saw first hand how good I am with seals when I dealt with Orochimaru's little pet cloud monkey zombie."
Temari grimaced, visibly stiffening, Gaara however just nodded, "Indeed, I can see now how you managed to become a Jinchuuriki on your own merit," he said, "I did not think it was possible to apply a seal without it being inked down on a conduit, you can create them from your mere chakra."
"So can you," Daiki shrugged, making Gaara blink and give him a confused look, "Yeah that tracks. You barely know jack shit about being a jinchuuriki because of that clown Rasa. Well, here's a spoiler. Shukaku, he has those blue markings over his body right?"
"Yes." Gaara nodded again, simply.
"Those aren't decoration," Daiki revealed, "They're cursed seal markings. Shukaku can imbue them into his sand and some other techniques, and are pretty powerful binding seals. Even a kage would be rendered useless without a counter to them if you caught them in a bunch of those seals."
Considering when Naruto used them, they had been strong enough to bind Six Paths Madara's limbo clones, and even the real one would rather escape than get stuck in Shukaku's binding seal markings….well, that was as glowing a recommendation as one could ever want.
He honestly couldn't wait until they'd accumulated enough of Shukaku's chakra in his seal to allow Isobu to gain Shukaku's abilities as well. Once he had access to those, and combined them with his own sealing techniques, he may even be capable of crafting a seal that could contain Kaguya.
None of that sun and moon marking seal crap needed.
"…I see.." Gaara hummed, before scoffing, "As expected of that fool of a Kazekage. He wished for me to become his weapon, and yet explained nothing."
"Gaara…he's still our father you know..." Temari half-hearted said, timidly.
Honestly, Daiki didn't like it. He much preferred that fiery Temari that came and confronted him and threatened him.
"Was your father," he decided to correct her, "Or well, still is I suppose. I can let you speak to him if you want?"
"What!?" Temari goggled at him, "He's dead though."
Gaara's eyes narrowed, mind churning at his words, "Ah, I see," he grunted, "You know that jutsu as well don't you? The one Orochimaru used to bring that other Jinchuuriki, Fukai back from the dead."
That made Temari's eyes widen, "Really!?"
"It makes sense," Gaara noted, "Daiki here, did not seem at all surprised by that jutsu during their battle, in fact, his immediate go to, was to seal the edo tensei. He did not resort to that for any of the others, just him. Which means, he already knew how to counter it from the start, and what better way to know how to counter a technique, than to know it?"
"Correctamundo," Daiki laughed, snapping his fingers in the redheads directions, "In fact, I've already brought your father back as an Edo Tensei."
"W…what?" Temari gave him a look of utter disbelief, "Why?"
Daiki just laughed even more, "Because that clown has a debt to pay," he said, cutting off his laughter and focusing his gaze on the older girl, "Temari, I like you. You're hot, intelligent, skilled, and you're a good sister to your brothers, a complete seventeen out of ten. But don't make mistake my mercy in letting you live as kindness."
