The top experts of the Serenade Faction moved out together, Grey among them. Their goal was simple: strike the eastern Gnome camp hard and fast before the other three camps could send reinforcements.
Fifteen Peak Sovereigns left the main hall and quickly reached the eastern walls of the Faction grounds. From there they confirmed what their scouts had already reported. Only five Peak Sovereign Gnomes were present in the camp ahead. With that final check complete, the group advanced under the cover of night and layered concealment techniques.
They had attempted similar strikes before and failed. It was not that the human Peak Sovereigns lacked the strength to kill their opponents. The problem was time. Even when outnumbered, Peak Sovereigns were extremely difficult to finish off quickly. Any prolonged fight gave the surrounding Gnome camps enough time to react and pour in reinforcements. That was why previous attempts had always been forced back.
