All crewmembers were alerted by the sound of a deep horn being blared. None of the Airships blasted this horn, none even came with one.
Something else made this sound and it startled everyone into an alert mode.
"Argh, there's no break is there?"
Torch immediately moved his focus to the countless sensors. This declaration of attack is something he wasn't expecting either.
"These readings are. . ."
Before he could deduce exactly what he was facing against. Bolts of water bombarded the Airships from below. The mana shields activated and deflected against some dangerous ones, and the rest were tanked by the Airship's thick hull.
Torch had specifically designed these mana shields to prioritize protecting the balloons. So it usually ignored projectiles aimed for the Airship body unless it surpassed a specific threshold.
Or, in the Guidehand's case, when there was an overwhelming quantity.
