Chapter 188: What the Deep-Earth Yielded
Black Moon Territory, The Outer Wall,
Torug's POV
The expanse between the spiked Ironwood outer wall and the inner stone ramparts had never served for much beyond the usual patrol of young orcs and goblins, or the ones building the outer walls and new houses meant for the outer settlement. The spot we chose looked weirder now, ringed by a massive, jagged rune-circle drawn wide enough with skyreed paste that Lovan and Vargan had to bellow like roaring Kroyug beasts just to be heard across the dirt.
"Ready on the north flank!" Vargan roared.
He knelt by the northern arc of the circle, his clawed hand still caked in the bluish green paste that he just used to correct the final rune lines.
"Uh, what is flank?!" Lovan yells from the southern part and I couldn't help but interject,
"He means, he is ready, Lovan."
