There were so many applications for the Beast Spirits. He could summon them to fight for him, and he could fuse them into him to gain their skills and bonus attributes. It was similar to Spirit Contractor, but that was not his main focus.
As per his agreement with Azhug, they agreed not to keep the Battle Beast Spirit. It didn't mean his Beast Spirits were not capable of fighting, but they were not trained for it.
Tang Shaoyang didn't think much about it, but he would like to explore that option later on. Not now, because his main focus was still cultivation, Calamity Demonification, and gathering more bodies for Spirit Advancement.
