While that one was airborne, she spun on her heel to face the one behind her. Her blue eyes were dead, frozen ponds. She thrust her spear forward, not once, not twice, but in a relentless, blinding volley.

The technique was pure, unadulterated speed. Her arm became an invisible blur, leaving behind a fan of dozens of blue, crackling spear-images. Each thrust carried thousands of volts of electricity. The shadow was forced onto the absolute defensive, its crystalline claws moving frantically to parry the onslaught.
