After the two hunters saw that Jack knew how to always return to the village and was not in danger of being trapped in the forest, they started teaching him how to get food in the forest without having to hunt.
They taught Jack an important part of their job which was how to find medicinal plants, fruits, food and also what poisons and other things were so that Jack could spend several days in the forest if necessary.
The hunters also taught Jack how he could find the river in a forest to always have water to drink, they taught Jack how he could make a camp or find caves to sleep.
They also taught that Jack had to learn how to make fires, how to fish using his hands or with traps, they taught him how to make traps to catch fish, small animals like rabbits and large animals also with bears.
They also tried to teach Jack how he could sew if he was seriously injured, which medicinal plants helped to heal wounds more quickly, plants to heal illnesses like fever, sore throat, stomach and stomach pains and many other things.
Hunters taught how he could dismantle animals he hunted in order to eat and use the animals' skin, bones and teeth depending on what he hunted, they also taught him how to clean a fish and many other things.
So Jack spent several weeks learning various things from Mark and Ron that would not put him in danger and also that he did not have to fight, Tim who knew that was very happy with Mark and Ron.
But contrary to what they thought Jack was not irritated by it and not too anxious, he sought to learn everything Mark and Ron had to teach him because Jack realized how valuable these teachings were for his survival.
Seeing this Mark and Ron realized that Jack really wanted to learn to be a hunter and even though Tim was no longer against Jack becoming a hunter, Jack knew he was being very lucky to have Mark and Ron teaching him and his father to accept what he was helping more in the workshop and trying to learn as quickly as possible what hunters taught.
So the other day after helping Tim in the workshop in the morning Jack went back to the hunters' hut, now Jack just needed to take his sword because he had left his things in the hut just like the other hunters did.
"Good afternoon, Jack, we have to say that we have been impressed with you for the past few weeks, you learned everything we taught you, of course, you still need a few years of practice to know how to do everything correctly, but you can already survive in the forest."
"So starting today, we will teach you what you need to really hunt or kill wildlife if it is needed in the future."
Jack was excited when he learned that he was finally going to learn to fight, he was enjoying learning from Mark and Ron, but he really wanted to fight wild animals and hunt like he saw Mark and Ron.
"The most important thing for a hunter is not using the sword, it is knowing how to use the bow and arrow and traps, our main objective and being able to kill animals to bring food to the village and not have a direct fight with the animals."
"Even when we have to kill a wild animal as we did with lions, we use the bow first and after we kill or injure the animal we prepare to fight with a sword and shield."
"Fortunately, you already know the basics of how to use a sword, so we can focus more on teaching you how to shoot properly with the bow and arrow and then we just have to teach you how to use the shield and you're ready."
Jack understood what Mark and Ron meant, they didn't train to become knights or soldiers, they had to learn to kill animals using intelligence and as safely as possible, so learning to use the bow and arrow was more important than to use the sword.
And that was exactly what Jack wanted to learn more, he knew he could not fight with a knight or even a soldier using the sword because he learned little by training alone, and Jack also knew that he did not have enough strength to fight on equal terms with nobody.
That's why Jack wanted to learn to use the bow and arrow because if he was good enough he could kill any animal and even a knight just by using the bow and arrow as he was now.
Mark and Ron were unaware of Jack's ambitions, but they were happy to see his enthusiasm for learning, they prepared several targets made of straw, the targets had different distances and were targets that they could easily hit.
Mark was better at shooting the bow and arrow than Ron and so he was the one who showed Jack how he should do it, it was harder to do everything slowly, but Jack paid attention to every move Mark made to shoot.
Mark and Ron held the bow with their left hand and shot with the arrow in their right hand, this was not only because they were right-handed and it was also because of their dominant eye, normally right-handed archers had a dominant eye that favored shooting with the arrow on the right side.
Not all hunters learned this, but that was why Mark and Ron were the best, they learned to make the instinctive shot that was not necessary to aim and only with instinct the archer had to hit the target, it was better for them to hunt moving animals.
And for hunters who sometimes had to shoot in dark places, knowing how to shoot using the eye that had the best vision was recommended, after all, in the shooting of the bow and arrow the practice was necessary to achieve perfection, so even if a right-handed man used the left hand to shoot with the arrow with much more training he could be the best.
"Jack, Mark will shoot slowly with his bow and you will just watch how he does it, then I will teach you how to have the right posture and all the basics you need to know to be an archer."
After Ron finished speaking Mark did all the positioning he was used to, only when he went to make the shot by pulling the rope he had to do it faster.
