The sound came closer and closer , and the shadow became clearer and clearer, Cal and Liam were both curious about the person who would launch such a powerful attack , and very soon , they were able to receive an answer for their questions.
The moment they saw the appearance of their savior , they were dumbfounded .
A thin and tall figure about two meters appeared, walking leisurely, holding a scythe, if not for the big orange pumpkin carved with a mischievous smile, and eyes under her shoulder , you could easily think from her body and clothes that it was a man , a human ,but unfortunately , it was not , their savior was a Headless Carver .
The two humans were surprised , although it wasn't something rare to encounter headless carvers ,but the thing is that those monsters are usually heartless , merciless with a big hatred of humans , they viewed them as a source of food. Of course , it's also the case of all the undead , but those monsters are far more dangerous , the more souls they absorb the stronger they become, and the more difficult it will be , to deal with them .
Liam lifted his sword , putting his body in a defensive position , in case the incomer monster, launch another attack toward them , but , strangely , it didn't take any action , it was just walking slowly toward their direction , and soon it came in front of them , and again it just walked past them , like they were nothing but mere air .
Cal and Liam , turned their heads ,their gazes following the headless Carver's figure , which was approaching the pitiful ghoul on the ground who was trying miserably to stand up , but with both legs injured, it wasn't an easy task .
The headless Carver ,now in front of the ghoul, lifted his scythe ,and with a quick move , beheaded the pitiful creature on the ground. Then without giving a single glance to the two surprised humans, it walked back to where it came from, but before disappearing in the fog , it stopped and turned its head to them , with a slightly head gesture , it instructed them to follow it .
The two companions looked at each other , not sure about what to do , the monster doesn't seem interested in killing them , if it does , they would have died long ago ,also with their current conditions ,they can't even withstand a single attack .
Liam supported Cal , and carefully they started walking towards the monster, seeing them approaching him , the headless carver advanced deeper in the fog . The humans, as they followed silently behind, made sure to leave some meters between them and the monster and to carefully check the surrounding for any upcoming danger .
After some minutes, they arrived in a little plain where some familiar figures were resting . Liam and Cal seeing the rest of their group safe and sound, sighed relieved .
From the approaching three figures, the tanker spotted his two friends, then he got up to go help them. Soon , the group was finally completed, Liam was very pleased to see that they were all unharmed , even Jane who fainted earlier , looked fine and was much more comfortable than before.
_ Everyone is alright ? Asked Liam his companions worriedly
The first one to answer was the tanker ,Brad .
_ We are alright , and it all thanks to this fellow there.
Brad , followed by Liam , turned his head towards the headless Carver who was standing at the side ,some meters away from them .
