After walking around sightseeing for awhile the group had decided they were hungry and were making their way to the canteen.
"Wow so you really have spirit magic Tobi? I would do anything in my power to be able to have any magic at all."
"Yea Sok but it's probably not better than being able to be as strong as you. Even I can tell you would be able beat me even with my magic."
"Yea but you're a sage your potential is crazy good and you're only 13 like Lily, you guys are amazing! Even shadow is extremely powerful!"
"Of course he is, he is a Royal after all." Taraja interjected in Tobi and Sok's conversation.
"As much as I like being praised can you guys stop talking about like I'm some extraordinary creature," shadow said while eyeing the rest of the group.
"well you kinda are compared to us even Taraja's parent is just a wealthy merchant. You could be crazy influential one day you don't think that's like super cool."
"Stop it Sok even I can tell you're freaking him out and we all just met."
"Wait Lily aren't we forgetting you're literally General Sono's daughter that basically makes you the closest to royalty."
"Just stop or I won't be in your guy's group for the battles." Shadow said.
At this point Sok finally went quiet until the group got to the canteen which was 4 big buildings divided between the first year all the way to the graduating class
Luckily this will mean I won't bump into Kera here at least, shadow said thinking to himself.
"What's wrong Luci you've been pretty quiet?"
'Never again call me that you disgusting boy address me as my name or king of demons. Also for your information I just didn't have anything to say about you and your human friends squabbling.
"I wouldn't say we are friends though….."
'That's not what it seems like to me you are all already pretty close so much for saying you would not trust anyone' Lucifer started cackling out of control as if he said the funniest thing ever.
"Whatever I'm gonna eat don't bother me then."
'Never was my intention you're the one who bothered me...'
Lucifer was still talking but at this point shadow had tuned him out looking at the huge hall where so many students were already broken in to different groups. The halls were huge and decorated with paintings of what looked like the academy at different stages throughout the years. The ceiling was huge as the glass chandeliers that hung off of it. 15 Tables that could sit at least 100 kids at it were spread out the hall. Everything in here look high classed of course not as good as the palace but definitely better than any noble.
"Oh wow! Do you guys smell that? It smells like heaven in here and I can smell chicken it's been so long since I had any meat!" Sok screamed at the top of his lungs. Which of course got a couple strange looks even from what seemed to be other peasants.
"Ok calm down Sok I think we all like chicken but not that much." Taraja said snickering at Sok. With Lily and Tobi joining in after awhile they soon got their food and met back up at a corner of table towards the back.
Lily had a bunch of healthy vegetables and fruits while both Taraja and Sok towered their plates with meat and one potato each. Tobi had some type of pasta while shadow enjoyed rice and a meat covered sauce.
"I guess you and Sok do have the same taste." Shadow said with a small smile. Both Taraja and Sok looked at each other then back at shadow and laughed.
"And I guess you can make a joke even if it's bad. I thought you were gonna just be all gloom and doom this entire time." Taraja eyed shadow with a toothy grin. Shadow was a little socially awkward so he didn't really know what to say back, so he decided to talk about the team up.
"Mhm….since you guys are older than me who's gonna be the captain of our team anyway."
"Shouldn't it be the strongest?" Sok answered
"No I would say it should be the most strategic and has good leadership ability."
Taraja said as she bit into a huge chicken leg.
"So shouldn't it be you then?" Shadow said quickly
"Why do you think that? Taraja said this time biting into a steak.
"Easily because you are going to be taking over your fathers business and for a merchant leading employees and making strategic plans is second hand nature."
"With you saying that I'd argue it should be you. One thing a leader should do is know who is useful for what."
Shadow and Taraja stared at each other for a second
"Hey didn't think I'd see you weaklings here. I was telling my friend I could've beat you if I wanted to so how about we go and have a team battle at the arenas or are you scared."
It was the group from earlier walking over with what seemed a huge smile on his face as if he already knew the answer.
"Hey shadow why don't we put this on hold and see everyone's abilities before we just go picking the captain. After that I think we'll all know instinctually who should be the captain."
"Finally some action" Sok stood up screaming out his seat.
"I also wouldn't want to dirty my father's name by running either so I'll join.
"Come on Tobi you're coming too there's no need to be scared since fighting at the arenas is allowed and I know you want payback for holding back earlier." Taraja looked at Tobi while he stood up too
"Fine I'll do it but you can't say I didn't try to keep a low profile."
"Yea yea yea I know you were always a goody two shoes so I knew you wouldn't defend yourself if you got picked on that's the only reason I helped the first time. This time don't disappoint.
'What will you do boy you can't hide from everyone especially if you want to get stronger, battle experience may help.'
"Fine let's do this."
The group began walking to the arenas while the nobles walked behind them calling them different names and curses.
