The black-faced middle-aged man is none other than Elder Lin, one of the five great Elders under the Crown Prince.
He has a fiery temperament and is extremely concerned about his reputation. In front of others, he boasted that he would kill the masked swordsman and retrieve the Single Horned Red Cloud Python's Demon Core.
But as fate would have it, when crucially tracking the masked swordsman, he was blocked by the Black Thorn Demon Wolf, allowing the masked swordsman to escape unharmed.
