Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

"I don't want to get married!"

"You're not getting married."

"Yes I am! You're marrying me off to that boy from the….from the, see?! I've never even heard of him before. You're making me meet up with a fiance I've never even met!"

"Calm down Sowa, stop struggling, you're giving the maids a hard time. And since you've never met him, this will be a good opportunity for you to get to know him."

"Which dress Miss?"

"Hmmph."

"Give her the midi dress, the one with the flower patterns, along with a set of small pearl bracelets for her wrists, oh and tie her hair into a braid. For her shoes, hmmm, give her the light pink slippers-"

"But what if I don't like him? Will you still make me marry him?" she asked, eyes wide open.

"Love isn't always a first sight thing Sowa, usually it takes time. And he's a nice boy, I'm sure you'll come to like him."

"No way, mm-mm, that's never going to happen."

"Why~, do you have someone else you like?"

"What?!" she shouted. "No way!"

"Sowa~. Stop moving around so much, the maids will have a hard time dressing you. What's wrong with you today, you're unbecoming of yourself! I expect you to be properly dressed and with an attitude befitting of one with your name!"

"But my name only has four letters anyway."

"Sowa," the lady said exasperated, "not this again."

The girl fell silent as the woman stared at her.

The lady turned away as the maids put the dress on the young girl.

"I'll be waiting for you outside," the lady said with a faint smile.

The white door closed, and the maids delicately dressed the now silent little girl.

They finished dressing her up, brushing her hair. Then they moved to the side as she was brought to the mirror. She twirled around half-heartedly. The maids smiled wryly at the current state of their little princess. Then there was a knock on the door.

"Come in."

"Sowa?"

"Oh! You're here!" Sowa exclaimed, her face surprised and with a smile.

"Mhm, are you getting ready to meet him?"

"Hmph…Mother wants me to be at the wine shop right after."

"Oh. Then I'll see you there."

"Wait. Are you sure you'll be allowed to be there?"

"I've already asked and they said yes. I'll be waiting~!"

The door shut and the little girl hurriedly moved towards the white, wooden dresser. Polished and gleaming, a drawer was opened by the little girl as she frantically searched through the myriads of accessories for the pearl bracelet.

"Here."

She found it and handed it over to the maids who glanced at the little lady in amusement. Looking at their bemused faces, she creased her eyebrows and replied, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Nothing," the maid shook her head, "rather, it is a surprise to see Little Miss so excited for today."

"Well~" she beamed, "it just might be fun!"
