Chapter 648 - Lion's domination

This made the various beasts tremble. A Grand Rank 2 Lord was comparable to the strongest Beast Lords on the mountain. Only the Fat Light Chicken, Bubble Trap Toad, and Triple Poison Ferret were a match, and they were tangled with Protector Avin. That was not all, because three more auras joined him. Elder Ludin and Terus were Mid Rank 2 Lords, whereas Elder Unvo was a Late Rank 2 Lord. Their combined aura pressure and quality instantly changed the cadence of the battlefield. Every beast gulped. This was the grandeur of the Featherwind Sect! They did not miss this chance. The Featherwind Sect immediately attacked.

Elsewhere, Protector Avin faced the four Beast Lords as his aura swelled. The world appeared to bow, almost like hailing a king. Even the beasts felt a deep, uncontrollable fear arising within them. It was so strong that it briefly overshadowed their fighting intent. After all, they were riddled with injuries, and their energy had dropped a lot. On the other hand, Protector Avin was in perfect health, and his Core never seemed better, thanks to his constant recovery methods. How were they supposed to beat someone like that? They felt discouraged.

The Bubble Trap Toad was halfway from turning around and fleeing. Once it did, the other beasts would probably follow suit, and the entire battle would end. Protector Avin would have been happy to see this. He was not interested in fighting these beasts. He came because he wanted to rescue Freon and Nassandra. Unfortunately, the Triple Poison Ferret growled, and a vast amount of poison fog rolled out. Nearby trees shriveled and died. Its killing potential was obscene! This culled the cowardly behavior in the other beasts. Therefore, they had no choice, but to face Protector Avin together.

The man snorted. The Triple Poison Ferret was a Half-Rank 3 Beast King, making it arguably the king of this small mountain. It was no surprise that it could force the others to submit. Conversely though, if it was defeated, then the other beasts would give up. It was simple then. He dashed back, while triple casting spells. Great torrents of World Energy danced around him, reminiscent of the ocean wave. Three large Magic Circles appeared overhead and on his wand. His Magic Energy coalesced into three massive spheres that floated in the sky. Whenever these spheres bumped into each other, a powerful tremor echoed out. Although Elder Crus spectated from far away, she could feel the air shaking. Protector Avin's spell contained an earthshattering amount of power! It had clearly reached the Rank 3 King standard! His casting speed was fast, but not fast enough to catch the beasts off-guard.

The chicken foolishly charged at him, hoping to swallow the torrents of World Energy whole. The toad spat out multiple bubbles in quick succession while the mantis's forearms glowed before unleashing a giant flying strike. In the back, the ferret used a different colored poison. Protector Avin finished casting and attacked. Three Harmonic Rebound! The three balls flew forward, and as they did, they occasionally grazed each other in the air. Gong! Another powerful shockwave tore through the battlefield, blasting the snow away. This spell's main characteristic was that it would periodically release stronger shockwaves, ultimately culminating in a massive explosion. In other words, it had a delay before it could reach full strength.

The chicken sucked in and energy funnelled into its mouth. The spell visibly weakened. Bang, bang, bang! The toad's bubbles smashed into the spell, destabilizing it further. Finally, the mantis's flying strike sliced through it. Boom! The spell detonated prematurely in an explosion large enough to destroy a small village. Snow, ice, dirt, and rocks flew everywhere, blanketing the scene. Although they defeated Protector Avin's spell, the ferret never stopped producing poison. That was wise. The explosion blocked every beast's vision, so they used their Martial or Magic Perception to find Protector Avin. A clap of thunder resounded in everyone's ears as sunlight illuminated the stormy night. An unfathomable concentration of Magic Energy made the beasts shake. Protector Avin had used his prior spell to cover up his real spell!

The Beast Lords attacked him in a frenzy, as they sensed the threat of death. The Fat Light Chicken opened its eyes wide, as rainbow colored light spilled forth. Numerous bubbles gathered into the Bubble Trap Toad's mouth and fattened its cheeks. The Extreme Blade Mantis retracted its two forearms and collected every bit of Martial Energy left. In the back, a large purple and blue poison cloud floated around the Triple Poison Ferret. Their combined aura was suffocatingly strong. Yet, it was not enough! Protector Avin's aura was so 'heavy' that it almost felt solid. The whole world seemed to be crashing down on their heads!

Lightning and fire blazed between Protector Avin's clasped hands. He took a breath and flipped them open. The world was briefly illuminated by black and white, as an enormous beam of lightning and fire shot at the four beasts! There was a large boom as the beam broke through the sound barrier. The force produced flattened every tree in the vicinity and pushed Protector Avin back. He could barely withstand the recoil with a barrier. Everyone heard a lion roaring! The beam transformed into a giant building-sized golden lion! Lightning and fire adorned it, almost like a monarch's robe. Roaring Storm Devastation! It was the same attack that brought the Li Family's attack to a heel at the Quiton Gates. It was Protector Avin's strongest offensive method!

The mantis bravely faced the lion. Its two forearms sprung open, almost like a blade unsheathing. Shing! Two grand flying strikes cleaved through the sky. They spun together in a circle, continuously strengthening each other. It looked like they could cut through the world! However, when it reached the lion, the lion bit down on the flying strikes and destroyed it. The mantis's strongest attack failed to slow the lion for even a second. As the lion charged over, the mantis tried to resist, but it was hopeless. The insect was ruthlessly stomped, and the lightning and fire reduced its body to ash.

Next was the toad. Its cheeks rapidly deflated, as it spat out a small, shiny bubble. The bubble flew at the lion and popped. Boom! The lion was met with a huge explosion. Tremors travelled across the mountainside, and the wind pressure briefly blasted the blizzard away. Unfortunately, a roar came from beyond the dust cloud. Lightning bolts streaked everywhere, while fires lit up the night sky. The lion burst through the smoke and descended on the toad. Even though the beast prepared many bubble traps in the area, the lion smashed through them all with supreme ferocity. Nothing could stop it! With a single swipe from its paws, the toad exploded.

The lion continued towards the chicken. The rainbow light coming from the chicken's eyes peaked, resulting in a giant burst of energy! Interference strength rose dramatically to the verge of a dead zone, where no spells or techniques could be used. This was the chicken's main weapon against Protector Avin's spell. The chicken was feeling triumphant until the lion rushed in. Protector Avin sneered. It might have been a dead zone for a Condensed Drop Arcanist, but against a Blue Depth Arcanist like himself? It fell short! Although the chicken tried to absorb and destabilize the spell as much as it could, the lion swatted it through six trees. It was probably dead.

Finally, there was the ferret, the most powerful foe on the battlefield. It had created a giant wall of purple poison, reaching halfway to the storm clouds above. This much poison could easily kill hundreds of people. It was a calamity by itself. However, this was a Triple Poison Ferret, and as the name suggests, it could release three different types of poison. Using Martial Energy, the ferret released a blue poison. It mixed with the purple poison to create an ominous indigo color. The indigo-colored poison felt several times more potent than before! But then, the ferret exhaled a golden poison. Despite it barely being a breath, hardly a match for the giant wall of poison, when this golden poison entered the wall, the latter churned violently, almost as if it was living! It truly felt like it could slay immortals now!
