Chapter 237 - Chapter 237: The Birth of Ashen Glaze

Inside the Ashen Crucible, there was no sunrise, no wind, and no passage of earthly time.

There was only the eternal, crimson haze of the pocket dimension and the deep, subterranean roar of the fire spiritual vein. Powered by the unbroken geothermal conduit of Caldera Peak Nine from the world outside, the ancient bronze arrays of the forge glowed with blinding, white-hot intensity.

In the center of the vast obsidian platform, the great central furnace stood open.

Fang Lin stood before the blazing maw of the furnace, his upper body bare. The emerald-and-gold vitality of his *Asura Flesh* hummed beneath his skin, casting a heavy, jade-like luster across his defined muscles.

With a slow, deliberate wave of his hand, the three-foot bar of **Primordial Spatial Shadow-Iron** floated into the center of the flame.

*SZZZZZT——!*

The moment the spatial ore entered the white-hot furnace, the air around it distorted. Instead of softening under the thousands of degrees of geothermal heat, the pitch-black iron began to blur. It flickered in and out of the physical plane, continuously slipping into microscopic spatial rifts to bypass the thermal energy entirely.

Fang Lin's eyes narrowed. "It is rejecting the heat by hiding in the void."

"Hiding? In front of me?!"

A burst of indignant black fire erupted beside Fang Lin's ear. The Dark Flame Spirit leaped into the air, her tiny form flaring with absolute fury.

"Insolent scrap of rock! You think slipping into a little crack in space will save you from my fire?!"

With an arrogant scoff, the spirit dive-bombed straight into the heart of the furnace.

*BOOM!*

A terrifying vortex of pure Origin Black Fire erupted inside the furnace chamber. Unlike the broad, roaring heat of the geothermal magma, the spirit's origin fire was predatory, sharp, and boundless. It latched onto the spatial fault lines around the iron, burning straight through the void rifts and pinning the ore in place with absolute destructive supremacy.

"Scream for me, you stubborn pebble!" the spirit cackled from within the flames, her voice echoing wildly through the crucible. "Loud-Boy, hit it with your Cosmic Force! Don't let it breathe!"

Fang Lin didn't hesitate.

He raised his left hand. A dense, silver-grey stream of *Four-Pillared Cosmic Force* surged from his Dantian, funneling directly into the furnace.

Under the combined suppression of the Cosmic Force and the Dark Flame Spirit's origin fire, the spatial iron's void-defenses shattered with a brittle *CRACK*. The three-foot bar finally buckled, melting down into a pool of thick, pitch-black liquid that shimmered with ethereal spatial ripples.

"Now! The heavy rock!" the spirit yelled, popping her head out from the furnace chimney, her black-fire hair standing on end as if she had just survived a storm. "Toss it in before I sweat out my origin!"

Fang Lin swept his right sleeve.

The two crushing blocks of **Nine-Abyss Heavy-Gravity Stone** flew into the furnace.

The moment the gravitational stone touched the molten spatial iron, the crucible's central platform trembled violently. The stone possessed an absurd, planetary density; rather than mixing naturally, it sank like a collapsing mountain to the bottom of the crucible, threatening to tear a hole straight through the forge array.

"It is too heavy to fuse," Fang Lin muttered, his divine sense tracking the unstable mass. "The spatial iron wants to float into the void, while the gravity stone wants to crush the earth. They are tearing each other apart."

"Use the shiny water!" the spirit hissed, landing on the furnace rim and panting tiny puffs of black smoke. "Weave them together!"

Fang Lin uncorked the crystal vial of **Starlight Mercury Essence**.

He inverted the vial, letting the flowing, silver-blue liquid stream down into the molten vortex.

*HISSSSSSS——!*

The Starlight Mercury Essence acted as a celestial bridge. The moment the shimmering astral fluid touched the mixture, it coated every atom of the heavy-gravity stone in a frictionless, starlight membrane.

Like a master weaver joining two opposing threads of fate, Fang Lin channeled his *Infinite Mind Weave* divine sense, using the starlight mercury to spin the floating spatial iron and the crushing gravity stone into a single, perfectly balanced alloy.

The three sovereign materials began to merge.

A radiant, obsidian-and-crimson composite liquid bubbled in the center of the hearth, glowing with the deep, mysterious light of a dying star.

Fang Lin gripped the air.

With a tremendous pull of his Core Force, he dragged the glowing, white-hot composite billet out of the furnace and slammed it down onto the ancient obsidian anvil.

*THUD!*

The impact shook the entire floating platform. The glowing billet was easily seven feet long, radiating an oppressive gravitational field and suffocating heat.

"Hammer it!" the spirit cheered, hovering just inches above the anvil. "Show it who its master is!"

Fang Lin stepped forward, his eyes flashing with cold, unyielding resolve.

In his right grip, the spiritual heavy hammer materialized. The green-gold vitality of his *Asura Flesh* swelled to its absolute limit, the ancient draconic strength of his physique locking his feet to the stone floor.

*Nine-Fold Titan Strike!*

*CLANG——!*

The first strike was deafening.

A concussive shockwave of heat and force tore outward from the anvil, blowing the surrounding ash clouds into the crimson sky.

Fang Lin did not stop. His arms moved with rhythmic, terrifying precision.

*CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!*

One strike. Ten strikes. A hundred strikes.

With every brutal impact of the heavy hammer, a miraculous transformation began to occur within the alloy.

Normally, striking a metal with such overwhelming kinetic force would cause micro-fractures, requiring repeated cycles of annealing and cooling to prevent structural fatigue.

But as Fang Lin hammered, the crystalline lattice of the alloy began to glow with a strange, translucent sheen. Rather than rejecting the violent kinetic shockwaves or the blistering heat, the weapon began *drinking* them in.

The thousands of tons of physical force behind Fang Lin's hammer, along with the scorching elemental heat of the Dark Flame Spirit, were continuously absorbed into the microscopic crystalline glaze of the weapon, storing every ounce of violent energy within its dense core.

*Thermal-Kinetic Storage.*

The more violent the impacts became, the denser and more indestructible the alloy grew!

Seeing this, Fang Lin's eyes flashed with cold brilliance. He deepened his breath, circulating his Four-Pillared Cosmic Cycle in absolute synchronization.

He drew upon the residual conceptual imprint of the Void-Silver Flame that had been refined inside his foundation and tempered into his Peak Mortal Will during the Crucible trial.

Channeling the *Ashen Heaven Sutra*, he funneled the dense grey stream of his *Four-Pillared Cosmic Force*—infused with his *Eradication intent* and the Dark Flame Spirit's origin fire—down through his arms and directly into the hammer's face.

*CLANG!*

Each strike did not merely shape the metal; it etched the conceptual pathways of *Eradication* and high-thermal destruction deep into the weapon's crystalline lattice, creating an unbroken internal meridian network designed specifically to conduct the forbidden *Divine Glaze Spear* without collapsing under the cosmic recoil.

The raw billet began to narrow, lengthen, and refine.

The shaft took shape—seven feet and two inches long, straight as a pillar of heaven, obsidian-black yet translucent as fine glaze. Beneath its smooth crystalline surface, veins of volcanic crimson and celestial starlight pulsed in steady, rhythmic heartbeats.

At the tip, the metal tapered into a sharp, diamond-angled leaf blade. The edges carried no physical burrs, no reflection, and no sound; they parted the ambient air so cleanly that the space around the spearhead seemed to warp and fold.

"Last step!" the spirit shouted, her voice trembling with thrilling anticipation. "Quench it in the star-mist!"

Fang Lin lifted the seven-foot-two glowing spear with both hands and thrust it into the basin of ancient astral star-mist at the side of the anvil.

*SHHHHHHH——!*

No violent steam erupted.

Instead, a vast, silent shockwave of pure, obsidian-and-starlight energy rippled across the entire Ashen Crucible. The crimson mist above parted, and the roaring magma vein below seemed to bow in quiet submission.

When the mist cleared, the weapon rested quietly in the basin.

Fang Lin reached out his hand and wrapped his fingers around the shaft.

*HUMMMMM——!*

A profound, ancient vibration surged from the spear straight into Fang Lin's soul sea.

It was light as a phantom's breath, yet contained the crushing, gravity-collapsing mass of a mountain range. It was cool and smooth as glass to the touch, yet contained a dormant volcano of pure destructive law, eagerly waiting to detonate at his command.

Born from the volcanic ash of Caldera Peak Nine, forged within the spatial realm of the Crucible, and tempered by the celestial glaze of starlight.

Fang Lin lifted the seven-foot-two spear into the crimson air of the pocket dimension, his dark eyes reflecting the crystalline, magma-veined blade.

"Born of ash, tempered in glaze," Fang Lin spoke softly, his voice carrying the calm, absolute weight of a sovereign.

"Your name shall be **Ashen Glaze**."

*HUMMMMM——!*

The spear let out a sharp, resonant hum of joyous awakening, sealing its soul-bound connection to its creator.
