Chapter 309 - Second Catch

PoV Viccy

As I traveled back to the dead drop, I realized something quickly. Something that I hated, and I knew I should report it to the party, but I held off. Even all my thoughts prior begged me to go back to the others and talk about this, but I stopped myself.

I was not stupid.

Instead, I did the right thing and headed back to the dead drop location. I quickly moved through the city, heading back to the location. It was daytime and the right time for someone to quickly sneak in, take the drop, and depart without being noticed. I was not sure if this was going to be the last drop in this place or even if they took it while I was gone. But the point of a dead drop was not to be there when it arrived. It took me a bit of time to follow to the Alchemist shop, but I made it back in half the time.

It was clear that the man took the LONG way around to the dead drop, and you did not do that if you think what you are doing is in good conscience. Then-

Hidden Group Quest: The Sewer Necromancer

On your clean-up of the sewers, you ran into a laboratory of a Necromancer that seems to be raising a larger and larger undead army. After cleaning out the lab and killing all the undead inside, there was a note you found that names an Inn, but you do not know where the Inn is.

Your informant has found the location of the Sewer Inn, but in the process has been captured. They have only found the Sewer Inn's location and have found nothing else.

You have invaded the Sewer Inn with the help of the authorities, who granted you a small amount of time to find your Informant and any clues for the Necromancer.

You have found a clue from a middleman in the Sewer Inn in exchange for being able to escape the Raid from the Guards. The Clue is a dead-drop location that the man uses to drop off ingredients and a pickup location for them.

You have followed and discovered a Slums Alchemist delivering to the Pickup location. You witnessed them picking something up and dropping something off. Who is this Alchemist, and what is their relation to the Necromancer?

After reporting this Necromancer to the guild, they have hired you to hunt down this Necromancer and capture them alive or dead.

Rewards: Adventurer's Guild Reputation, ?????, ??????, 100g if captured alive or 75g if brought in dead.

The Quest update showed that I had just as much information as I did before and a further urge to drop this quest. I just wanted to dive into my Love's body for a bit to stifle this frustration I felt. I almost growled as my lower dick started to harden in my pants as I thought about my Love and missed him in the game. His succubus body was a delight.

I shook my head to clear those thoughts, and I knew it was better to get the party together and talk to them about the quest and update them. They would be able to find the Alchemist themselves and start investigating, although one of us would still have to. This was getting ridiculous, and I did not start playing or making this world to watch a street corner, hoping someone would come for a drop.

My annoyance with my own stupidity for making this game THIS realistic was annoying. I knew I would have been even more annoyed if it wasn't this realistic, but that didn't calm my frustration in the moment.

The payout, Viccy. The payout for this would be fantastic, and I think a day or two break would be good for my frustration after this. This would be a thing that I would insist on, as I felt like I constantly had to play the game.

There were issues with the game, and I would bring them up in the next meeting. I was already hinting at them, and I took short, calming breaths as I reached the Dead drop again. I walked past, double-checked the dead drop location, and smiled. It did not look like it had been moved. The Alchemist had not put the brick back perfectly, and I did not touch it. I walked past it to another location where I could watch it.

My mind raced with thoughts of my Love, and I hoped soon that I would not have to watch this corner much longer. It was getting old, FAST. My patience was being severely drawn out these days, and I wanted to go back to shooting something instead of this investigation stuff. I liked-

My mind blanked for a moment as I noticed more movement by the brick, and I watched as a homeless-looking man walked up. The man was disheveled. Dirty brown burlap cloth that looked like it was covered in shit and grime, and my eyes narrowed. Even the hair was dirty to the point that I did not know if it was dirt or if that was his hair color, and he moved to the brick and then, to my surprise.

He pulled out the brick and reached in.

He blended in, almost perfectly.

People walked past and did not even notice as the man reached into the dead drop and pulled out a flat bag. A flat bag that then disappeared under his filthy shirt, and my eye narrowed, and a smile crawled up my lips as I watched him, and my feet moved faster as I followed him.

Back into the slums I go.

How lucky was I?

I moved again. I moved behind this stinky man, and I moved through the crowd. Then it hit me: the stink, and this man SMELLED. Like shit. Like a sewer, and I felt a jolt of adrenaline. I felt it hard at this moment, and I was almost certain that this man was in fact the Necromancer. The smell was almost easier to follow, and people made way for this man.

Worse I was down wind from him through several streets and i was mentally taking notes on the directions that I was taking following him. Then I watched as things started to literally flake off this man. Dirt, crime, shit, and everything that was making this man STINK started to fall off. Almost as if it dried off his body naturally, and there was a path.

But I followed him as close and as far as I could. I did not want this man to spot me, and I watched as he moved into an alley several streets away and deeper into the slums, further from the spots that we had been searching for the Necromancer, and then deeper into the alleyways.

I followed, and I slowed down as I did with the Alchemist. I stopped at the corners and froze when I saw other men in the alleyway the man walked by. Some were just as terrible-looking as the popentail Necromancer. Many were even in worse condition, and the smell was getting bad. I looked up to see if I could use the roofs and found one that HOPEFULLY looked sturdy enough. I moved, leaping up, and I followed along but quickly leaped down.

The houses in the Slums were not fully made of stone. Many were now rotting wood, and a couple of times I felt my foot almost push through into the roof and into the room below. My feet felt the wood flex like that atop rotted wood, and I did not trust it. The ground was not much better, and I frowned deeply.

I wish Gloom Bloom was here. She would be MUCH better at this work, but I could not allow my wishes to distract me.

I wanted to finish this fucking quest. I wanted to play with my Love, and this would give him a good excuse for some time away. We would also need to reevaluate the brothel he was working at to see if it was still useful. Although I was sure that she would level up soon. Or should have by now.

My futanari cock hardened a little thinking about that, but I centered my mind back to reality to see the man disappear around another corner. It was not hard, as the stink of the man walking before me seemed to permeate the alleyway. As I turned the corner, thankfully, this time there were no other men in the alleyway, and I turned back and noticed some stares from the men in the alley, and I did not like that. They spotted me, and I hoped they did not tell the Necromancer.

But I did not dally. I moved down the alley. I quickly caught up, and then I saw it.

He disappeared down into the public sewers in a part of the city we had not been searching. The gapping maw stank and i moved towards it. I needed to learn his location, and this was the prime time to do it.

I walked forward, and I quickly made a notch with my arrow in the stone just as a reminder, and I took a mental note as I quickly moved. I remembered the turns and everything and wanted to chuckle to myself. All that education just to remember a place where a sewer entrance was.

Now was not the time to wait.

I followed after him into the sewer, and this time it stank worse than any other before.

I would definitely need to talk to the game developers. This stinks.

The darkness of the slum sewers started to envelop me and make me gag as I went into it, and once again I decided this quest was not worth the trouble.

I can't wait to log off and push a bit of my frustration on my Love.

And for this damn quest to be over.
