Chapter 5 - FIRST WORLD 1.2

"Host."

"Hm?"

"Host should wear clothes."

"..."

Anton looked down at himself.

He then stood in front of the wardrobe after drying himself. The clothes inside were neatly folded.

Quite organized.

He picked a white shirt and a pair of black pants before wearing the eyeglasses placed beside the mirror and looked at his reflection for a few seconds.

It really is my face.

Only...

Healthier.

He raised his hand and touched the frame of the glasses.

"They don't have a grade?"

"They do not affect Host's vision."

Anton nodded. He didn't ask any further. There must be a reason why Antoine always wore them. He would find out sooner or later.

"Anton!"

Ling's voice echoed from downstairs.

"If you don't come now, I'm eating your share!"

Anton sighed.

"...I'm coming."

As soon as he reached the dining room, everyone looked at him.

His mother smiled.

"There you are."

"Sit down before the food gets cold."

Anton silently sat on the empty chair. The smell of fried rice, eggs and hot soup filled the room. It wasn't luxurious. But...

It looked warm.

"Eat."

His father handed him a spoon.

"...Thank you."

The dining table suddenly became quiet. Ling slowly looked at Fred. Fred looked back at Ling. Both of them then turned toward their parents.

"..."

"..."

Their father blinked. Their mother blinked. Anton noticed everyone's strange expression.

"What?"

Ling suddenly pointed at him.

"You said thank you."

"..."

Anton looked at her without saying anything.

"Did I?"

"You did!"

She immediately stood up and touched his forehead.

"Mom!"

"I think brother is sick!"

Their mother lightly slapped Ling's hand away.

"Don't disturb your brother while he's eating."

"But Mom!"

"He even said thank you!"

"Isn't that weird?"

Fred nodded.

"...She's right."

Anton quietly ate his food.

Was the Antoine of this world that difficult?

His father suddenly laughed.

"Hahaha!"

"I like this better."

His mother smiled.

"So do I."

Ling puffed her cheeks.

"I don't."

Fred sighed.

"You're just upset because he didn't argue with you."

"I am not!"

"You are."

"I'm not!"

"You are."

"I said I'm not!"

Their parents simply watched the two continue arguing.

Anton lowered his head and continued eating.

Without realizing it...

The corner of his lips slightly curved upward.

After breakfast. His mother began collecting the plates. Anton stood up.

"I'll help."

She looked at him in surprise.

"You don't have to."

"It's okay."

Before she could refuse, Anton had already taken several plates toward the sink. His father quietly watched him.

"...Honey."

"Hm?"

"I think our son finally grew up."

His mother smiled without saying anything.

Ling crossed her arms.

"I still think something's wrong."

Fred nodded.

"I agree."

Anton pretended not to hear them.

Just as he was about to go upstairs...

His father called him.

"Anton."

"Yes?"

"You won't be late today, right?"

Anton looked confused.

"Late?"

His father frowned.

"The entrance examination."

"You've been waiting for this day."

Anton became silent.

Entrance examination?

The System answered immediately.

"Today, Host is scheduled to participate in the Arcadia Academy Entrance Examination."

Anton slowly looked outside the window.

Looks like...

I won't be staying home today.
