Modir sat alone in the deserted sailor's restaurant, feeling as if he were deeply entrenched in a bizarre and abnormal space-time. Everything he saw and heard here seemed as though separated by a thick curtain, and the reinforced window before him was the embodiment of that curtain—the vast yet barren "desert" outside the window was the opposite side of the curtain, where the truth he sought for a long time was hidden.
Yet he had a feeling that for now, that place was somewhere he absolutely should not tread.
