The Sapphire Mandate: A Sovereign the Heavens Fear

Sarah_J_Meyer
“Heaven issued the mandate. She was born to break it.” She was born beneath a constellation Heaven tried to erase. Seraphae’s birth should have been impossible — a child marked by the Sapphire Omen under the lost Sol Veil, a sign that had not appeared since the fall of the last Divine Queen. Taken from her mother and raised under watch in the imperial capital, she grows up knowing two things: the court fears her… and Heaven is watching. To control the future, the empire binds her fate to the crown prince through a political betrothal meant to keep her power contained. But when the time comes to choose, the prince chooses safety instead. The court calls it stability. Heaven calls it correction. And somewhere beyond the mortal realm, a demon lord named Zarek Aurun is punished for seeing too much — stripped of his power and forced into mortal form as the very woman’s bodyguard he was never meant to protect. Heaven believes the anomaly has been contained. They are wrong. Because Seraphae was never meant to be an ornament, a sacrifice, or a mistake. She was meant to be the correction. And when Heaven finally realizes the truth, it will already be too late.
