Yet far from such grandeur, in the nation of Buitenzorg, lived an eight-year-old boy named Ciel.
With his light brown hair, pale yellowish skin, and emerald green eyes, he appeared to be an ordinary child. Sadly, in a world where magic determines life and death, Ciel was born with absolutely no magical talent.
This absence made him fragile—easily overlooked, easily forgotten. His future seemed decided long before he could ever choose.
Until one day, near a silent forest, fate strayed from its course. Ciel came into contact with a mysterious source of mana and gained a power never before recorded in the history of Bernez. Not ordinary magic—but a foreign, potent, and dangerous force.
