The Latent Identities Of Darwin

hjkoiro
"Hush now, little sparrow, lie quiet in the hay; the morning tide will find you still, where I left you yesterday." . . . Not long after Darwin Asrael receives an invitation to attend a play, he finds himself taking his seat beside its mysterious sender, who offers an unusual job proposal. Following his period of underground recruitment in the Hemlock organization, a string of murders draws Darwin toward an author whose manuscripts describe each case before it is exposed to the public. With each entry, it becomes clearer that these writings were composed with a specific individual in mind. As Darwin compiles evidence, parts of his own past fall into unusual themes, and he begins to recognize that all of these cases may be leading him toward the ordinary evil of his own kind.
